I have my 11 month old still on soy formula and I was wondering if it is safe to switch him to regular milk come his first birthday. Please let me know if anyone has experienced this. =)

That's what I did. I nursed and also used soy formula. I think the last can of formula ran out when he was 13 months, but about a month before that I slowly introduced 1-2 oz. of whole milk so that when the formula was all gone, he would be fine with milk.

All 3 of my kids started out on soy formula. One of them was able to switch to cows milk right after his 1st birthday but the other two weren't. I recommend 'Silk Soy Milk' with DHA & Omega-3 & calcium if your not able to switch to cows milk..

We did that, our son did best on Soy, he wasn't lactose intolerant he just had a sensitive tummy. But as of his first birthday we had him on 100% cows milk. I just switched 1 oz of milk for 1 oz of formula and he did great!!!

Both of my kids were on soy and at one year old I switched them to whole milk and didn't have any problems with them, just because they are on soy doesn't mean they will be lactose intollerant. If the whole milk is too much for your baby then try 2% that's what I did and they were fine. If nothing else talk with your dr.

He might be lactose and tolerate as he hasn't been on regular formula since birth, I'm assuming. Try giving him a little with water at first. Why aren't you keeping him on soy milk though? I don't recommend it because it doesn't have vitamins that whole milk does but I was just curious.
