You can add some applesauce to the cereal to sweeten it up and warm milk instead of water. I also had a child that was hungry all the time and I actually intead of feeding her by the bowl and spoon. I cut the nipple of the bottle a little bigger and she drank the cereal (make it a little more liquidy of course) with her milk. I hope that helps.

I just stuck with the rice for a month then I decided to try the other ones with my oldest. He ended up prefering the rice. My youngest was the opposite he prefered the oatmeal. Maybe stick to the rice alittle longer due to food allergies.

I have two boys myself and do daycare for several others. What I normally do is use the rice ceral to start. It will need to be pretty liquidy to start, then thicken it up as you go. I always use the formula or breast milk never water. Then when he starts foods, add a little baby food into the mixture. He will really like that! Hope this helps!

I would stick with the rice cereal for a while.  I just started to feed my son the oatmeal and he is 7.5 months old.  I started the rice cereal at 5 months and he took to it real well.  I'd definitely take it slow...and make it more liquid than solid so it's easier for him to digest.  Good luck!!!

Hi Taneeka, does he seem not to like the oatmeal? Sometimes it takes a few tries for them to like something new.  Why don't you just stick to rice cereal for a few days and then try the oatmeal again later? Then when you try do it a few times. My daughter seemed not to like things sometimes and this worked for me. Hope this helps

hiya, my baby is only 3 months and i have had to start weaning early as he is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hungry all the time... As i have only just started, and i have started early, i find that adding more liquid than reccommended is advisable as it is alot easier for him to digest...perhaps try it and see if it helps? x
