Struggling HELP!!!

No matter what we do. We're always over budget. Insurance has gone up. Daycare has gone up. The cost of food and gas have gone up, again. Medical bills won't stop appearing. I'm scared to look at the mail box. My hubby and I are both working two jobs. What else can we do?

Thanks! Our biggest problem is our budget it already cut extremely. The only thing I could think of is cut cable but my hubby is against it. However, I pay the bills and freak out each month. :( we're ok right now because we still have our tax return money helping us out. But more medical bills keep coming and the cost of daycare increases then the cars are breaking down :(

Figure out where you can tighten up. Do you have contract phones? There's a HUGE unneccessary expense, when a prepaid plan can be less than $50/month. Do you have cable? Do you enjoy frequent evenings out?

Can you cut out 'name brands' and purchase less expensive generics?

Do you purchase large ticket items on a 'need' or 'want' basis?

Everyone can live within their means. Sometimes it takes scaling back your 'requirements'. Believe it or not, a cell phone is NOT a requirement for life, nor is internet, cable/satellite TV, etc. Clothing purchases can be cut back in most families...

Basically, you need to sit down with your budget. Determine what is a NEED (house, food, utilities, clothing) and what is a want (new vehicle, better phone, satellite tv, internet, new furniture, etc) It is tough, especially if you're accustomed to spending. But, it can be done, and done easily, if you work at it a bit.

Go through your budget and find out what things you can give up for awhile or totally. I know somethings are hard once you get use to having them, but it may allow you to get back on your feet and then add them back in at that time. Write down everything you spend your money on and when.....even a candy bar or a pop. These are things that can add up and you don't even realize how much you are spending on them. These are also simple things and once you are concise of them you can reduce or go without for a time period. There are times when money is harder then other times, but many times with money no matter how much you make it is never enough because we tend to spend more the more we have to spend. Even talking to a financial adviser might be helpful as they will give you lots of pointers on what you can do to save and how to cut spending.
