Does anybody have ANY advice of dealing with teenagers? A 16 year old girl, and a 13 year old boy. They absolutely dislike one another, they cannot even be in the same room since my divorce with their father. How about the "I know more about life then you" attitude??

Please somebody give me some help! I want to bang my head against the wall until it bleeds!

How about the "you will act as if you love one another or I will smack you into next week" lecture?

"I know more than you" - yes you do, but I'm the parent and if you want to keep your cellphone, ipod, DS, xbox... you will stfu and do what I say and NOT give me once of damned attitude."

Shana, I use to say my 16 year old was possessed. LOL! She will be 18 in July. Believe me I went through the same thing with just her and her "I know everything" attitude. It took hard love and setting limits. I told her she can hate me now and love me later. Believe me it gets better just stick to your grounds and don't give in. Me and my brother fought when we were teenagers, it's also hormonal and going through the stages. We turned out ok. Just hang in there...

this is natural behavior and being consistant and setting limits that you can live with helps. pick your fights and keep telling them that youlove them. discuss their feelings about the divorce quietly and try to end it all with humor. patience patience patience, eventually they grow up

I hear you, I have a 15 year old son, done the divorce thing, now remarried (8 yrs) with a 20 year old step daughter and a 5 and 4 year old. One minute they were best freinds and the next enimies. I find that I after they have a spat then ask, can I?, then remind them how they acted and say no you can't, that is your punishment for fighting or the way you acted. It's tough but eventually it started to work. The old saying is it will get worse before it gets better.

Wish I could give you magic pill to make them love one another!!
