Temper Tantrums

When Ashley hears the word "NO" she throws a temper tantrum or when she can't get across what she wants. HELP I have tried everything. She will listen to her dad when he says "no" but when I do things blow up.

When i read; "I have tried everything" it leads me to believe there has been an inconsistency in the discipline used. What does Dad do different than you? Does he walk away and not listen to it? ignore her bad behavior? tell her bad behavior won't get her what she is wanting but good behavior will?

Put her in a safe place to have her meltdown/tantrum, let her scream it out in the mirror even, but it's her tantrum to have and she's gonna have it. How you deal with it is what determines how long it will last. If you give in to shut her up you are going to have a rough row to hoe. If you remain consistent and she learns this behavior expends a lot of energy without results, it should stop relatively soon. Generally this phase is 6 months to a year.
