Ok, well, that's basically retraining. What are your circumstances? Did they used to sleep thru, and now don't? Are you potty training?

Could it be something like Jodi active imagination?

I used to have to leave the TV on a timer at night, or my son would wake up and come "check on" everyone in the house because it was too quiet. If the TV was on, at least until 1 am, he'd sleep through the night, and so would the rest of us

It depends on the reason they are waking. My daughter still woke frequently at night right up until she was about 5 because she has a REALLY creative imagination and her nightmares would wake her. I ended up throwing an old cot mattress on the floor beside my bed, added a spare pillow and blanket, and when she woke at night, she was happy just to crawl in there without disturbing anyone. It was enough for her to be close to us to help her go back to sleep, and we all got our sleep.
