tips for teaching my one year old new words

Just about what you are doing, what things are, read. When he wants something say the word for that object. Or when he wants more.....say "more." You can also do sign language as a way of learning words too. Many toddlers will pick up words fast when they are taught sign language. Big thing is just to continue to talk to him. Also give him chances to say the words......example.....when you know he knows a word that you have been saying a lot (such as more, or milk).....make him say the word before you give him the item. Act like you don't understand (even if you do). This encourages him to use the words he knows.
