Travelling with babies!

I have a 7 month old son who we have been travelling overseas with since he was almost 4 months old. He was sleeping through the night from 12 weeks but (obviously!) this stopped once we started travelling. He has not slept through since and we were in one place for 8 weeks straight. Any ideas on how I can get him to start sleeping through again now that we are home (but due to head off again soon for another 3 onths) or is it just a lost cause? Thanks!

I had The same issue with my 6 month old. I tried a bedtime music which I play on every night when he goes to sleep. Soon he got associated to the music and the issue solved.

if your kid sleeps in a portacot while you're away maybe just make him sleep in that at home if you're going to travel a lot. we travel a lot and it's really annoying!!

Try and use the same routine and same bed clothes as he will associate sleep with his surroundings. We always take our daughters fleecy blanket wherever we go and as long as she has that to cuddle into she will sleep any where.

it sounds like he is struggling to adjust to different places do you use the same cot/crib, same nightlight, is the amount of light in the rooms the same, same blankets, sounds, ? if its difficult to take the crib you use at the moment try using the same travel cot both at home and away.perhaps get him used to going to sleep with a particular cd playing very lowly both home and away if he wakes in the night put it on again, and use blackout material at the windows. anw whatever you are doing when he wkes at night continue to be consistant with as little disturbance as possible
