How old should my son be to start playing on his tummy? He is now 2 months old but he was 6 weeks premmy

You could start already and see how he does. Due to the intense hatred my children have/had for it, I didn't do much if any tummy time with my son and now I'm not really doing it with my 4 month old daughter, either. I figure I give her lots of time on the floor, and she wiggles around and develops muscles that way, and her neck and back muscles can develop when I carry her. I'll just wait until she rolls over by herself (seems like she's about to do it!) and then she can give herself "tummy time".

Don't do it immediately after he eats, because that will be uncomfortable for him and he'll probably spit up. But don't do it when he's tired, either, because it's difficult and frustrating for the baby, so best to do it when he's alert and cheerful.
