I'm a mother of 6 year old and 1 year...with my first kid I didn't know where to start teaching her so I just let her wait till she started kindergarten and she was slow learning...now that I have a one year old I wanted to teach him so he can learn fast but don't know where to start...

At this age all you can do is read stories, talk normal to the child and introduce a lot of things to them. When doing colors for instance talk about the item and what color it is. They are not going to really get into doing colors until closer to age 2. Also intro shapes but do not push it. A lot of this stuff they do not show as much interest in until between 18 months and 2 years old. Also each child is different too....they develop at different rates. Just watch your kid and go with what you can as they show interest.
