hi i was in labour for 2 and half days, i lost my plug first then my waters half broke slowly, (every time i had a contraction my waters leaked and kept feelin the urge to push), it was only my hind waters that broke so my front waters were stopping baby from comin, my contractions were irregular for 1 and half days then wen they where regular they were only 15 mins apart but getting stronger i finally went in when i had the show ( was quite a bit of blood in it so mum rang an abulance but everythin turned out fine) they had to pop my front waters and oh boy did i feel the pain in the contractions then, they where coming every 2 mins and lasting 1 min, an hour later i had my baby. i would deffinatly go to docs or hospital, better to be safe. good luck and best wishes :)

sounds like your water may have started to break??

Mine were broken in hospital so not sure apart from a gush what natural breaking feels like, my contractions were just like bad period cramps that were regular, time them and see how long they last and how often, if they are regular it may be labour??

good luck x

thanks for everyone helping. i have tryed timing them and they are soo irradic its not even funny. i started at 5:00 and this is how many minutes they were apart... 4, 8, 2, 13, 7, 3, 2, 8, 2, 25, 13, 31, 4 and it is now 7:22 and i have not had another one yet. ((14 min past the last one)) soo my dr says that ia hve to wait til they are 5 min apart for one hour but idk what to think yet... this is my first baby and i am worried but he just seems so annoyed by it.

every pregnacys different. Ive never personally had my water break, but with the contractions I can tell you that it is hard to walk with a moderate to heavy contraction. With my 4th pregnancy I thought Id be a pro and ended up in labor for 2 weeks! It was when the bloody show came that I knew it was finally time.

Brittany~ you are describing what my first labor was like! Started by feeling "crampy", went thru 4 maxi-pads an hour 'cause my underwear constantly felt wet, but really knew I was in labor when it felt like I had to have a BM all the time (the toilet was my favorite position for my first l&d).

Seriously, though. Good that you've called your doc... but if you are still experience a continual "wet panty" feel and it seems like you are leaking fluid (clear or pink, but not vaginal discharge goop), I say call your doc again, tell him you would like it checked out, and get in to his office or your hospital. Good luck! (p.s. better to be safe and feel silly than sorry)

I thought I had horrible gas for two days and finally I couldn't take it anymore. Yup, I was in labor! I'm embarrassed to say this was with pregnancy number two.....=)~

You'll know you are in true labor when contractions are becoming consistent, I was told to go to the hospital when they were lasting 1 minute each and were 5 minutes apart, your water may be broken and you have a slow leak, this happened with my second baby. if you stick to the 5 minute rule you'll most likely not be sent home once you finally go to the hospital, provided you're not that far away. I am only 5 minutes from my hospital so that wasn't too much to wait for me. and once the baby really is coming and your water has broke you will feel a massive heavy fealing in your lower regions, like you have to go really bad... good luck mama!

Don't stress yourself out...you'll definitely know when you're in labor. You'll be able to feel when they're getting stronger & closer. Once they're five minutes about, it's time to head to the hospital.

Go to the hospital straight away. With my second child, I went to the hospital as soon as I thought I was in labour. Even though the nurse kept insisting I wasn't in labour, and that I probably had a urinary tract infection, I insisted I was in labour. She eventually did a test and confirmed I was in fact in labour. Trust your instincts. Not everyones labours go on for hours, so go to the hospital to be on the safe side.
Let us know how it all turns out.. Good luck!

hi it is important that you go to hospital if you think your waters may slowly be leaking as if this goes on for a few days there is risk of infection! best to be on the safe side. with my contractions my stomach tightened during the contraction and then relaxed when it had passed. best to get checked though.

i also thought my waters had broke but it turnd out to be disscharge and have u had a show yet? or is the water pinky colourd as it could be ur waters if it is. i was in slow labour having mild contraction for 4 days before i has roxanne and they felt as though every time u got one u had to push urself off the seat but u didnt want to get up either so if they feel like that u could be in slow labour good luk!

i had 2 false alarms because i thought my water had broke but it was just discharge. they tested the fluid both times and it came back negative each time and told me to go home both times and i was 2 cms dilated both times. well i took a nap one day with dry undies and 2 hrs later woke up with compltely soaked undies and at that point i knew somethin was up. when i finally went to the hospital my water bag wasn't all the way broken, they said it was like a pin poking a water balloon. and luckily i stayed and had my son 12 hrs later but anyways i would just go to the hospital tho cuz worst case scenario u go home ya know. everyones different in their experiences so just go with ur gut

contractions are like no other pain you have ever felt before, almost crippling as if you can't stand your stomache tightens and releases and it feels like it's being squeezed from the insides, I had so many false alarms and i did have major cramping prior, but no cramping came even close to the pain i felt during real contractions... and your water breaking is like pitchers of water pouring out of you that just keep replenishing.

and if it is your water that broke, it will leak all the way up until you actually deliver the baby... or at least should... not 100% positive, but pretty sure!

I say go to the hospital! My panties were wet too... felt like I was peeing my pants (just a little bit though)... went to the hospital and was told "yup, you're a keeper"! I was 38 weeks as well! They swab the fluid and test it and let you know whether or not you're in labor.

maybe... I went into pre matur labour at 34 weeks it felt like I was having apendix attack. But when i went into real labour it was very constant times apart.. so I would go by that b/c i were not really strong as well.

OK SO NOT TO BE GROSS OR ANYTHING BUT CONTRACTIONS BASICALLY FEEL THE SAME WAY IT FEELS WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM REALLY BAD AND YA HOLD IT CAUSE ITS AN INNAPROPREATE TIME TO GO....LOL...ITS THE SAME FEELING BUT WAY MORE AMPLIFIED.....LIKE TIMES TWENTY WHEN YOU ARE IN FULL LABOR...BUT YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU ARE IN LABOR....THEY'RE NOT SO BAD IN THE BEGINNING.......ONCE YOU GET TO LIKE FIVE CM OR SO THEY GET ALOT WORSE......BUT IT AINT NOTHIN YOU CANT HANDLE :) .
