What is the normal amount of baby food to feed my 4 month old?

I started him off yesterday on baby food he ate a half a jar at lunch time followed by a 4 oz bottle. And then he ate the other half of the jar at dinner time with a 2 oz bottle. And today at lunch time he ate the whole thing so I didn't give him a bottle afterwards.. What do yal recommend I doing as far as feeding. Do I give him a jar at lunch time and a jar at dinner time and a bottle for breakfast? like how did yal do it as far as starting your kids off on baby food. I was really surprised that he kept wanting the sweet potatoes and he ended up eating the whole jar. He is eating the stage 1 baby food so far just fruit and vegetables.

A bottle at breakfast isn't enough. You shouldn't be replacing bottles with solid foods at this age, as they need the nutrients in the fomula/breastmilk more than they need the nutrients in solid foods.

What does your pediatrician say? Most don't recommend more than formula or breast milk, with possible cereal supplements after around 6 months.
