If he likes a certain character, go with that. How much do you intend to spend? If it is cheap that you want, get the supplies from the dollar store (we have a dollar tree and everything is $1). Make the invites, thank you cards yourself, use comic newspaper (we get it in sundays paper) and use those to wrap presents, make the cake and snacks yourself. What will the weather be like? warm-parks, outdoors Cold-indoor park lodge, house.

My daughter's first birthday, we chose 1st birthday theme, it was inside our house, we had 12 guests, cake, ice cream, and a hoagie sandwich. It was 1 hour long and chilly outside.

For her 2nd birthday, it is going to be Scooby Doo themed, inside our house again, cake, ice cream, and small snackages (lil smokies, chips, popcorn...etc) 2 hours long with (so far) 24 guests.

What is he interested in? How much do you want to spend? What will the weather be like?

We need a bit more information.

For my Daughter's 2nd birthday I just had family and a couple of friends around. It doesn't need to be a huge production at this age.
