My husband & I are looking for something to do that is not too expensive, but will get us out of the house at least every couple of weeks. We do not leave the girls very often, but do need a break every now and then. What are some things other parents' are doing to have some adult time??

Go for a nice long walk. Go out for coffee. There are no distractions, you can talk about anything and everything.

Go to the farmer's market, historical society, concert on the square, softball game at the park, throw a frisbee, go for a hike, visit a state park or monument, putt-putt golf... check to see if your city/county has an online calendar of events. Many towns have lots free or inexpensive things to do, if you know where to look.

We go out for dinner if we leave Logan with someone. No wailing, no occupying a kid, just peaceful entrees, main, desert, drinks. Even if it's to McCafe, $4 chips on the beach or special dinner at home when the kids are elsewhere who cares. Eating child free is bliss.

What about a "Champagne Picnic". A nice bottle of bubbly, some gourmet snacks and a nice spot under a shady tree.

Oh, I was going to suggest sex but since you want to get out of the house...honestly I don't have any suggestions. Sorry. :/

Although sex out of the house is also fun. :D

Are yall going to laugh if I suggest go fishing? A bucket of crickets costs less than $5.00...and a canepole costs maybe 8 bucks. It's a great quiet place to talk and reconnect. :)
I absolutely LOVE catfishing on warm summer nights...with the fire...and marshmallows...and a double sleeping bag...
but I am a country girl

My husband and I like to see a movie and then go out for dinner. It's perfect as we get to watch something for grown-ups and then a quiet dinner so we can chat without being interrupted by the kids.
