my son will be 2 weeks on thursday he doesnt seem to be getting full off of just formula. He is already eating 3 1/2 ounces but an hour later he cries because he is hungry again. Is it ok to start putting a little bit of cereal in his bottles? my parents said they did it with me at 2 weeks but i wanted some more feedback as well

no cereal should never go in bottles. Some babies will eat more often then others. I had a daughter that ate every 1 hr around the clock for the first 2 months. They are needing the nutrition of the milk to help them grow and develop properly. Don't feed anything else except for breastmilk or formula for at least the first 4 months.

Also make sure he is hungry not just wanting to suck. Some babies will have more of a sucking need then others. They are not always hungry just have the need to suck. If that is the case you may want to introduce the pacifier.

Actually cereal leads to obesity and diabetic issues (study conducted recently) so I would not recommend it at all. Its normal for your baby to be hungry- give him more as deemed necessary.

It's never ok to put cereal in a baby's bottle. Do lots of people do it w/ no obvious issues? Yes, but it has great potential to cause permanent harm to your baby's digestive system. If he's hungry an hour later you just feed him more formula. He's normal. :)
