They only need to be sterilized before the first time you use them and don't need to be done again. Unless you feel they have gotten dirty or germy. Same thing with pacifiers or sippy cups.

i only sterilized once i got the bottles before the first use. the dishwasher or hot soapy water is good enough after that. the only reason you need to sterilize regularly is if you have well water. it's unnecessary and just old advice passed down from previous generations. http://babyparenting.about.com/od/nutrit...

Hi there, I stopped it at 12mths my mom told me that a little bacteria doesn't harm anyone n bulids a babys immune system too against it. I did it n my son is eight now n never had problems. If there cleaned with hot water that cleans them well, as mom says they didn't have all this fancy products years ago n everyone got by.

I sterilized the bottles before they were used the first time and then never again after that.

Everyone is different, I didn't stop until my daughter was 18 months. Even now when she is almost 2 I still sterilise her sippy cups once every week or so.
