I work 4days a week, and the extra day making time for kids,my sister, and my friend and avoiding spending time with my husband, cus I can't stand him at times, since he been self employed for last 4yrs, after taking him back from 1 1/2 breakup, we decided to start his own painting company, i have invest $$ since he has none cus of stupid financial decision he make, I thought the first, second year was hard and 3yrs was great,so we decided for me to work from full time to part time but we are financial are struggling ,since as contractor the pay check doesn't come every two weeks ..and when the money come it goes to employee and other business exp. the rest is couples month of bill behind.. With the income i make just enough to pay for mort, food, gas, childcare exp, day to day operation, but i would end up using my overdraft prt. money ,which scare me ..cus i hate the feeling not having enough just to pay for grocery. I love my husband, I try my best to support his business .. but when is right time to say it quite ..and try something else with out going to argument... I don't want to go back to full time, I love having one extra day on time of the weekend to spending time for my kids ,and my self as i have already sacrifice 6 yrs $$ supporting looking after my family and the business..

Man that is a toughy - maybe ask him to sit down and look at options and how it could influence your situation. I would advice a financial planner. Sometimes speaking to an outsider about your situation (referring to factual figures without throwing in, I don't like you's). Look at the situation both of you - and make a plan together with a facilitator or the financial planner to start rolling the ball in positive direction. He might be on to something but is just short "something" - look, listen and leap :)

I think you need to look at the last six months trading and make a decision together whether you feel it is time to close the company and move on to something else. It sounds to me that one of you should be working for another company full time so that you have a regular paycheck coming in that can take the pressure off the business. It is really hard to be in business at the moment with the economy so low every body is struggling.

If you are making a loss each month then it is time to call it a day. If you enjoy the life style and can manage on the money and you can see that things will pick up then stick with it. Financial worries are a huge strain on a relationship so try and spend time together where you can remember who you are.
