Why am I loosing sleep over it?

My 3 year old is really testing me and my patience. She has always been good going to bed and sleeping all night, and if by chance she woke up in the night, I would just have to bring her back to her bed and she would go back to sleep. For the past couple of months she has developed a fear of pretty much everything in her room, especially the sound of the heat coming on. She won't even attempt to fall asleep unless I am in her room. And if she wakes up in the night (which is every night now, about 3-4 times a night), I bring her back to her bed and have to sit in her room until she falls back to sleep. Any suggestions to help her get out of this routine?

I suggest a night light. When my son and daughter (3 years and 18 months) started having trouble resettling in the night we found they helped. We also showed him and her that things in their rooms are the same in the dark as they are in the light, that there is nothing scary in their rooms. This helped.

what about a white noise machine or a fan in her room to disguise the heat coming on? And a night light, let her pick out a cute one.

A night light? I have to put a spotlight in the hallway for my kids to sleep, they are 3 and 4. (ok, not really a spotlight but a lamp). LOL.
