That reflex is arm/leg position in relation to head position...it may be what's going on, but it doesn't have anything to do with what way the eyes are looking. I think the OP needs to clarify a bit more.

it's called the tonic neck reflex, and is totally normal. :D
Though I really like the idea of fairies, that made me giggle.
