Will Vyvanse help my 17 yr old become more motivated to do homework?

My 17 year old son has anxiety, depression, and has just been diagnosed with ADD. He is a gifted child who has maintained a 3.7 in high school but this is his Junior year and he is struggling. He is taking 3 AP classes which if I had a time machine I would go back and tell him "no" but now he is stuck. He has always had trouble with writing papers and juggling homework. His organizational skills are horrible. He starts getting behind with his work and then everything starts to spiral out of control. I have always been there to push him with school but now he dosent want my help anymore. His grades are falling fast and I'm not sure what else to do. Doctor put him on 20 mg of Vyvanse and he is still taking 25 mg of Paxil. This was his second day and I have not seen any change. If anything, I feel things are getting worse. He says he can't feel any difference either. Will Vyvanse help him become motivated to do school work? How long before we can see results?

First, this is only day two of ihs taking the meds. It takes up to two weeks or more before they start to show any changes. You can not expect overnight changes with medication. As for the meds helping him become motivated--no. Given time and the medications working for him, then he can motivate himself to do the work. No pill gives you motivation.
