wolff Parkinson white syndrome

What does your doctor say?
I have Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia with Wolff Parkinson White syndrome. I don't know anything specific that triggers it, although it can sometimes be worse with too much caffeine or sugar (which are both present in chocolate in small amounts), and seems worse the week before my period (which your son wouldn't have, but boys do have hormone fluctuations that could trigger it). Honestly, a little bit of chocolate shouldn't be a big deal.

If he's not on medication to help control it, then maybe you should keep a log of when he has an episode: day of the month, day of the week, time, what he's eaten that day, what activities he's done, what his stress level was at the time, etc. See if you can find patterns of what triggers it. I also keep track of how long the episodes last and what I did to make it stop (usually sitting down, deep breathing and/or holding my breath works for me). Mine has always been controlled with breathing, and I've never passed out from it or had to go to the hospital to make it stop. But people are different. What works for me might not work for him.
