Yogurt was the first (and only, for a long time) solid my son would eat due to feeding issues. I gave him the YoBaby, which comes with and without fruit/cereal on the bottom. It is organic and comes in both whole and low milk fat (my son needed the calories badly). It even has a small layer of cream on the top.

He loved it! Heck, even Daddy loved it! Mommy thought it was too heavy b/c she's been drinking skim milk for years;).

Yep, I started giving yogurt to my son at about 9 months by doctors orders. He was real sick and we needed an additional something to aid in his digestion. I always read the lables though, I am trying to keep alot of added extras out of his diet.

My children love yogurt and I was shocked last week when I read fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt has 6 teaspoons of added sugar and about double the calories of regular yogart. Check the label when you buy yogurt to make sure you are getting the healthiest yogurt for your child and not just another sugary snack.

yes yogurt is a great snack..just check the nutritional info and try to choose the variety with less sugar if shes eating a lot. I freeze yogurt in icypole molds and my 19 month old loves them.

Your baby can eat as much yoghurt as she likes and yes furit yoghurt is fine too. My daughter ate fromage frais from 4 months old. As long as the youghurt is not a live health food yoghurt it is absolutely fine.

It's fine at that age. My son was eating yogurt around 12 months (out of desperation at the airport when everything was closed and we had run out of food for our son). As long as you don't notice anything different (diarrhea/constipation, vomiting, hives or rash), then your baby should be Ok.

Fruit flavored yogurt.. I'm a little wary about artificial flavorings, but as long as you have given it to your baby and again, don't notice any kind of allergic reaction to it, it should be Ok.

One thing, though.. I know I like to eat the Light yogurts, which are usually made w/ things like Aspartame or Splenda.. I do NOT recommend giving that to baby. It warns you on the labels that too much consumption of those things can have a laxative effect in adults, imagine what it would do to your LOs tummy!

If you're worried about sugar, either don't give as much or simply find a yogurt w/ a lower sugar content. Good luck :)
