After being home for 8 weeks, going back to work

I had my baby December 30 and have just returned to work 8 weeks later. I have been one day and I'm ready to quit because it breaks my heart leaving her after being with her for so long. Right now I am only working 3 days a week, but just thinking about going to work makes me cry. Does it get easier after a while? What did you do to get through the first few weeks and transitioning back to going to work?

It does get easier after a while,  more so once you are reassured she is well taken care of while you are away.  You can always keep calling the daycare to check on her, or if you have a nanny/babysitter at your home, then they can call you too when she is awake, you can talk to her on the phone.  and please dont feel guilty and be hard on yourself, after all, we only work to make a better life for our families right? I'm sure you are doing the best you can too.

I know the feeling. I was at home with my son 24/7 for a whole year, and I just got back to working. After day three I ready to quit and a stay at home mommy again. But it will get easier. I have placed pictures of my son at work, and I call the babysitter whenever I feel unsure about things. It'll just take some time.

It does get easier, I promise!! The first few weeks I was a zombie, and don't remember much...but you can do it!!
