Any advice for working the "compressed schedule" as a new mom?

Currently, I am working 32 hours per week (4- 8 hour days). However, I was offered by my job to increase my hours to 40 per week when I return from maternity leave. If I decide to do this, I am considering working 4 -10 hour days. The plus would be that I can increase my income and better provide for my family. But I'm wondering if I will have the stamina or desire to work these long shifts with a new baby. Anyone out there that works this type of shift?

I have a 3 yr old and one that is due anyday now. I went back to work full time when my daughter was 8wks old and i'm planning on going back when this one is about 8 wks old. Some people might say i'm nuts but working definately gives me a since of independence and self worth that i need. I know by having my "working world" and my "family world" it makes me a better person overall. It definately makes me cherish my precious moments with my family.

yes, I plan to pump when I go back. That's definitely something for me to think about since the days will be longer and I will need breaks to pump throughout the day.
