I have a six year old son who loves to back talk. I have explained to him what he is doing and that it isn't nice, I have grounded him, I have put soap in his mouth and he stil does it. DOes anyone have any suggestions on what else I could do?

I would continue to let him know that Disrespect is not tolerated in our home. Continue to take things away. Our son has a race car bed, we took the mattress' our of it and stacked it up against the wall. He gets hair cuts everyweek. We went almost 3 weeks without it. We kept taking until he got in his mind He is not the adult. I told him by law we are to feed, clothe, and provide a roof.. Everything else is PRIVILEDGE and our love for him. We work too hard and sacrifice too much to be disrespected. I call it Crazy MOMMA.. So now all I have to say is do you want me to go crazy momma on you... Every now and then we have to have a crazy momma moment. but not many... AB

I love everything Althea said.  I sometimes think I am too tough on my boys but I really need to start acting like you.  They are spoiled and think that they are entitled to all the stuff they have.  I need to remember the clothing, food and a roof over their heads line and see how that works.  I think it may.  Something has to or I am go crazy.  Thanks for the great advice.

I love the first reply. Too funny, glad to know i am not the only one that has done that before. I get the same thing from my 5 year old. I also tried everything and nothing worked. I found these discipline pockets online, that have worked very well for us. I think the website is disciplinemommy.com. Totally worth the $8. good luck
