Okay, so I am 52 with an almost 12 year old and an 8 year old-I am a single parent because their father's mind was a little too beautiful and he is saving the world. I have no child support and took on all the debt and all I have left is the house -yeah!! Anyway, I have a great male companion- 2 dogs- and I get too tired to work out. My folks are now gone and I am the only sibling in the area. My friends are 10 years younger or if they are my age thay have grown kids. I have friends who are now either with cancer or in mid-life crisis. I do not want to get dumb, dumpy or dowdy and worry because I can't get out of bed anymore before 6:00 a.m. Any words of advise-thanks for letting me vent...

One thing for me to remember is that everyone has challenges. Your situation may be a bit different than the norm, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy spending time with your kids & making sure that they have great experiences.

My daughter is 19 & I'm 42. I wish that I had spent more time with her when she was the age of your kids. It sounds like you have that opportunity.
Others may have ideas for you too
