My 2 1/2 year old son Nicholas occasionally suffers from severe nasal congestion. His lungs are fine, but his breathing, especially when he sleeps can be difficult. He often breathes through his mouth and then wakes up needing to drink. What kind of decongestant do you recommend?

The kind where an ENT looks at his tonsils and then lasers them out and solves the problem! My 3 1/2 snores like an old man, also breathes through his mouth and has congestion issues. His adenoids are HUGE but he has never had strep and they are not inflammed, but they are not normal give his age and the fact they should be shrinking. We see a ENT this week for ear tubes for my little girl and ear tubes and tonsils removed for my little guy. Would recommend before investing in every kind of decongestant on the market, (which there is none for a 2 1/2 yr old, all the medicines are designed for 4 and up, so make sure you also check with your pediatrician) going to see an ears, nose and throat to see what can be done to fix the problem for good! They are easy procedures and little ones bounce back right away!
