im a single mom and my daughter is just about 7 weeks. i know i still have a while before i return to work but i have already started having bad dreams about leaving my daughter to go to work. is this something every working mom goes through?

I had a hard time at first leaving my daughter to return to work. I think in many ways all moms go through that but the important thing is that you trust whoever/wherever she will be when you aren't with her. I had to return to work after only 6 weeks but was able to telecommute for two days a week so it wasn't as rough as having to go a full week. We found a daycare that was just wonderful and the woman who was in charge of the nursery was very supportive, called me with updates, etc. so I felt very comfortable that she was in good hands. I never really worried about her safety or health... For me the hardest part about returning to work was the guilt I felt for not being a stay at home mom. It helps to have support as you go through the adjustments of being a new mom and returning to work.
