What does it look like? My daughter had a bad rash on her cheeks, it was really red and bumpy. It turned out to be excema from food allergies. Her pedi prescribed pencillin, then amoxicillin, she also recommended eucerin. Nothing worked. I was breastfeeding at the time and started keeping a food diary. We noticed it got worse when I ate certain foods then breastfeed her. After several trial and errors and tests we found out what the problem was. Hydrocortisone helped a lot. What kind of ointment were you given?

CORNSTARCH POWDER WORKS GREAT. I USED IT ON BOTH OF MY DAUGHTERS WHEN THEY WERE BABIES.

DID THE DOCTOR SAY YOUR BABY HAS ECZEMA, IF SO YOU MAY NEED TO USE CALAMINE LOTION OF EUCERIN CREAM ( YOU CAN BUY THIS OVER THE COUNTER.

Be careful as your baby could be allergic to PCN and the rx could be making it worse.

thank you all! i even asked the dr if it was eczema and he called it edicepela. the rash is red and has somewhat yellow flakies, no red bumps. I am going to go back AGAIN and take down what you all suggested and get something that will work!

I had the exact same problem with my daughter when she was that age. i tried EVERYTHING! But nothing really seemed to work. Finally, the doctor recommended that I get her tested for food allergies. Well, sure enough, it turns out that she is allergic to soy, wheat, and dairy. She now drinks rice milk and pretty much eats meat, veggies, and fruit and things from the organic section at the grocery store. Her rash is now gone!!! :)

My son has excema on his face that looks like a red raised rash too. He actually has excema and it took us a long time to figure it out because they kept thinking it was cradle cap. He ended up using eucerin for a while and it helped a little. You may talk to pediatrician to get eucerin samples and if that doesn't work try to get them to perscribe absorbase which is a little stronger than eucerin without any steroids. Hope that helps!

I agree with Naomi. Same type of thing. I had my 4 year old tested for allergies because of his asthma. We found out that he was allergic to wheat, chicken and tomatoes. When he eats too much of wheat and chicken he gets his rash back. He get the rash right away when he eats tomatoes. We use diaper derm on the 7 month old and hydrocortizone cream when she gets a diaper rash.

My son had and still has soemthing like that. His doc gave us everything under the sun and nothing worked. One of the ladies i worked with said after a bath put Vasiline on his face and cake it. that is what we did and it its gone but it working very well. The doc said it was a sever case of Exzame. You will never get rid of it its a matter of just controling it. The sun and the wind make it worse and so does crying and heat. Just try the things pepole. We also did baby aveno lotion and wash and the helped too. they make one for that stuff. i think its blue or a green bottle
