Financial help while on maternity leave?

Hello working moms!

I am a working mom-to-be who has a good paying job, but whose pregnancy sneaked up on her. I'm trying to save for the three months I intend to take off, but it's going to be tight. I don't know that I qualify for government aid or anything like that, but I was wondering if anyone knew about any sources of financial support moms can apply for while on leave.

Apply for WIC (are you in the states?). ***Beware of the work from home thing, though. I tried that, and a lot of them are scams. The easiest way to tell if it's a scam is if you have to front money to the company.

A lot of the government assistance programs have web sites that chart out exactly how much you can make and still be eligible. Check them out, and then submit an application. The worst they can do is say no. Good luck with everything!

Have you considered "working from home" while you're are off with your baby? there are plenty of stay at home jobs that may involve data-entry, etc.
