I have a 7 1/2 month old and im seeking a daycare for her. She is currently is being watched by a family member..I pay of course. She is now getting to the age where she should be socializing with other children. I have looked into a place called bright horizons, but they are too expensive...HELP any1

Maybe instead of moving her straight into daycare you can find a stay-at-home mom that has a baby around the same age as your baby. I found that it is a lot cheaper too. I was a little apprehensive about finding a sitter but I lucked out and found another mom that has a baby that is 3 months older than my little girl who is currently 6 months. I find it convenient because she already has all the baby stuff and she knows what she is doing. She gives both of the girls lots of attention.

We live in a university community and there are a lot of moms that have husbands in school so we posted the position on the school job board. Then we narrowed down our selection to moms and visited the sitters' home and the family just to make sure they are clean and we felt comfortable. We pay about $4/hour.
