Well from personal experience as a child and a parent? When you demand, you get nowhere...Asking kindly works way better and instead of "training" our kids (which to me sounds like you are training an animal, but if that is not what you meant then I apologize for my interpretation) lead by example, and encourage positive behaviours. Remember that they don't have the same mental capacity, attention span, or reasoning skills us adults do. I don't think that kids intentionally don't do as they are asked they just are experiencing and learning a great big world that has so much to see and do that the mundane every day tasks are so not appealing. That being said however, I wonder where the line of reminders and nagging is, cuz I think my mom was a terrible nag and I never want to be that.
