My son has pulmonary atresia and because of that the right side of his heart developed a little smaller.  Since his birth in July of 2008 we have undergone 3 surgeries, and have another surgery in the next few years.  He is doing fine now and you would never know that he had anything wrong with him, but it was so scary going through all of that and being a first time parent.

Hopefully your child won't have cardiomyopathy like I said I know how scary a heart condition is as I'm sure you know.

I haven't dealt with Cardiomyopathy, however, my son was born with a heart problem so I know how scary it can be sometimes.  The best resource I have found to find out about heart diseases is the American Heart Association.  Let me know if you just need to talk I know how you feel having a child with a heart condition.
