Spray hair with conditioner in water each morning, head lice don't like the greasy feeling of that. Also, Tea Tree Oil in water sprayed on hair and leave it in.

Yup. Buy the shampoo from the pharmacy. If you think she got it from school, then it's best to keep her hair tied if she has long hair.

they don't "jump". They get on you by close contact and sharing hats combs exectera. I told my daughter she had a "head cold" that is why we need to use the shampoo. I have never heard about the braid idea or the gel and hairspray.

My niece had a terrible battle with head lice. After they finally got rid of it,she wore her hair pulled back into a braid. My SIL heard that having loose hair makes it easier for the critters to jump ship to someone else. She was also told about 10 million times not to share a brush or any hair accessories.

Hope this helps!

If you have girls and their hair is long enough, keep it in braids for school.

Head lice thrives in clean hair. If at all possible try putting gel or hairspray in your little ones hair before school.

Don't share hats, or batting helmets etc., and keep close eye on those kids scratching their heads!

i was told if you use shampoo with green tree in it.. They sell it at walmart.. I've been using it on my daughter since she started head start and daycare and so far she has been pretty good!

Buy the shampoo they sell in the pharmacy and keep it on hand....If you see your little one scratching their head or heard of an outbreak at school use it for a couple of days to keep the bugs away!! (but only for a few days it will dry their hair and scalps out)
