When my daughter turned 1 she showed some interest in going on the big potty. So every morning I put her on whether she had a wet diaper or not. Some times she would go and sometimes did not want to try and that was okay. With in a few weeks I would add a time to the potty like after lunch or nap. Then in a few more weeks I added before bed time then after baths and eventually she just started going on her own. I didnt need pullups or diapers at night. SHe has been out of diapers fo 6 months now and has never wet the bed and only has occasional accidents ( when too deep in play). SO take it slow and allow your child to do it at thier own pace and it will come tho them. Good luck. Kristy

I potty trainned my first daughter at 2yrs. I brought a potty a few weeks before we started. I took two weeks off work, put her in knickers and prompt her every hour. She also saw the rest of the family using the toilet, to show her that big girls didn't wear nappies. She caught on really quickly. Just praise lots..

Let your kids go at their own pace. But to initiate interest, try announcing when you have to go potty, and let them come with you. It is definitely going to bend your comfort zone a bit, but it's a great way to pique their interest.
