I am a working mom with four kids ages 6, 4, 3, and 4 months. Anyone else have a hubby who stays home with the kids??

You must have read my mind. I was just thinking there must be more working moms with stay at home dads but there seems to be no groups or sites for us. I have a 6 month old boy and my husband does some tax work from home but for 9 months is pretty much a stay at home dad. The hardest part has been dealing with family members and their perceptions. I was making twice the money he was and had health benefits. But I get labeled emasculating and he gets labeled lazy. Slowly family has come to see that our arrangement is working for us but everytime we meet someone new the biases start again... We are getting ready to work on child #2 and are looking at this long term. Anyone have advice for us?

We need a group of our own!

Yes, my hubby does the same. We both are in school full time and he stays and I work on the weekends.

My hubby is a stay at home dad too with our 7 month old daughter. We'd prefer for both of us to be working, but we're Canadians living in the U.S. and only I have a visa to work right now. We did want one of us to stay home with our daughter, and I think in some ways he is much more suited to it than I am!

I'm a working mom with 2 kids, ages 5 and 3. My hubby also stays home with them. It has really worked out for us. I have no guilt, as I spend Sat, Sun, and Mon with them, and they are cared for by their dad the rest of the time. They have turned into independent, spirited, strong children. I think it is really important to make sure that stay at home dads get some kind of a break if possible, like going to the gym. But it is just as important for working moms to get that kind of break too!

Yes, my husband stays home with our 17 month old. Sometimes I feel like the role reversal is difficult, though. Not that I've ever been a super-traditional kind of person, but I just feel like we're both going against the grain. I'd prefer to be the one at home, and I know my very outgoing husband misses the company of people, but financially this is the way it has to be. Does anyone else ever feel that way?

My husband stays home with our three children 11, 10, and 5. He does web design so is able to work from home. He has been the stay at home dad for most of their lives.

I would love for DH to stay home with Connor! he is sooo much more domesticated then I am. he cooks, cleans and does his own laundry, I truly lucked out LOL (and he is straight LOL).

What does your hubby do that may be different then a stay at home mom? just curious! would love to hear new ideas.
