High activity boys with worn-out jeans? Holes in knee area?

Hi, I have a 4-year-old preschooler boy who LOVES to over use his jeans around knees. Ends up ALL his jeans have 2 huge holes around knees. I had to throw them away not because he outgrew them. It 's such a waste of money. Then I figured out to patch the holes up with iron-on cartoon patches. But even that can only last a few weeks then new holes show up.

I can't afford to keep buying jeans from all major brands with big $$. Do you know if there are any specially made, knee-patched/constructioned jeans available in the market? I searched everywhere and didn't find good ones.

thanks

Linda

I am laughing here because I just threw away 6 pairs of my sons pants for this very reason!!! He's now 6 1/2 and we've had this problem since about 4 years old.  He does the run, drop to his knees and slide across the floor thing.  He has bruises all the time on his knees but doesn't seem fazed by it.  I don't know about any special pants but I would agree with the second hand store. Buy from salvation army or consignment stores.  I am fortunate enough to get hand me downs and I feel bad that he ruins all of them so I can't pass them on!  Not sure I helped here but I do appreciate that other moms are in my situation too! :)

Going thru the same thing myself right now! My son starts at one end of the hall and goes rnning then drops and slides down the rest of the ahll on his knees in some sort of baseball slide! He's got holes in every pair he owns!

And fyi, it doesnt matter how much you pay they are going to find a way to put holes in them!

Good luck!
