She's great with a coupld of kids but in groups, she just hides or won't talk to any one.

I'm a very social person, but my boys weren't always so taught them to introduce themselves. When I see them looking at someone,or someone looking at them, I'll say " Hi there! I'm Ashley, and this is my son Joey, what's your name?....what kind of toy is that?...Joe likes trucks, do you like trucks? Same way you would work a crowd. Get them comfy and help break the ice. When they know eachother's names, it's easier.

How old where your kids before they would play in sports.

organized sports? 4 but we have played baseball since they were able to catch or swing and flag football is still a sunday tradition.  Sports are a great thing for kids to enjoy, but there have to be rules. Rule 1: never quit. Even if they don't like it,they have to play out the season, that's part of being on a team. Rule 2: it is all about having fun, but to have fun, you have to work at it (share, give your best,be a gracious loser). Rule 3: mom and dad have to encourage them. Nothing beats a cheering mom/dad and a reassuring hug after a game lost.

People knock daycare but it's a wonderful way to get kids to learn how to socialize.
