my 14 year old has given me problems since Kgarten... but just recently, (about 2 months ago) he asked for permission to take his showers in the morning (he doesn't like the bedhead hairdo).... we've been letting him... now, he gets up, usually on the first call, and now the problem is beating him to the shower... :)

I'm just reading the How to deal with kids without loosing yours, and it says to make sure there are consequences and that you follow up with it. My son is 8 and I take away his favorites (Playstation and any game he likes) either for the whole weekend or until he can do it right. The book says to let the teacher know that the child will be late but give no excuse and have the child explain why he was late (unless he is 14 and he don't care ha ha good luck)
