My daughter started daycare at 6 weeks of age.  I had a really great daycare and knew that my daughter was always well taken care of.  The fact that you're working there is an added benefit because you'll be able to see her whenever you need too while y'all are making the transition.  But I really think that my daughter's time in daycare has helped her to be the great kid that she is now.  She's very well socialized and smart as a whip.  Plus, they potty trained her for me : )  I love daycare!

My daughter started day care at 4 months of age and there were children who started a little afterwards that were even younger. I was skeptical about having to put her in as an infant, but to tell you the truth I think it helped her to socialize better and earlier. She's in the 1-year-old room now and even though I liked it better when she was in the infant room b/c she got more one-on-one attention, she has a good time in the 1 year-old-room too and she has a couple kids that she gets along really well with.

My son started daycare at 6 weeks and I think it has helped his development. I would have loved to stay home with him but couldn't afford it. My sister is working in the same daycare that her son is in and it seems to be working very well! That way she can monitor him more than if she were working elsewhere.

Meant to say that my husband is a very stable, honest well balanced man so did not harm him. I also agree with Runa i would give anything to do your job!

No i don't think it will and i am sure you will be able to pop in to see her more than other mums can.

My daughter went to her childminder at 6 months as i had to go back to work, and to be honest she is very advanced for a three year old! My son went a 9 months as i managed to stay at home a little longer!

Sometimes mums have to return much earlier. My mother in law had to go back to work when my husband was only 6 weeks old!

Wow I could give an arm and a leg for your job ! Rest assured you already know your child is in the hands of responsible and trustworthy colleagues, that itself makes it so much better.  And you are only a few walls apart if you do need to see each other.  Don't worry, your little girl should be fine.  In fact, she's getting to a nice playful age and the other kids around should please her too.

My son started daycare at 3 months and it has worked well for him. He is well socialized, has not even fallen sick that much (knock on wood), has learnt a lot of developmental stuff.  And its a few streets away from my workplace so thats some consolation to me.

My son started daycare when he was a little over 5 mo. At least you'd be in the same building and could check on her. After awhile I was more comfortable with it because our son was sleeping maybe 12 hours a day  anyway and during the time  he was up he got to be around other kids his age.
