Happiness/Abundance in living that is, and having the time to be home with your kids without worrying about the economy and/or your own financial circumstance. It begins with your mindset. Scripture dictates that what a man thinks, is what he is. This is so very true! But we all get caught in 'what we're not', not good enough, not pretty enough etc.

Let's face it, we all have our issues. I'm student of personal development, so I'm still working on getting this right, however, things have already begun to change for me, first personally and then everything else. It really does work. It begins with your own attitude.

I'm thankful for so many things. And gratitude is everything, really it is. I'm most thankful for this, in my quest to make things better for myself, I've managed to help others, and it doesn't feel like work. I learned this from the people who train me (and still train me, as it never ends) in my vocation/business. I've definitely gotten more value personally than financially, and mind you the finances are there, but the personal stuff far exceeds it, and I'm now in a position where I can share and have a great time doing so AND it happened in a very short amount of time.

I guess I just want this for everyone, as it is very liberating to not focus on the economy, but rather having a good time with my kids while having others ask me, "what is it you're doing? you seem so happy all the time." I could go on and on, but it would defeat the purpose of starting a conversation, yes? :-D

Anyway, if anyone is interested in running their own business while working on yourself and helping others do the same, and you're passionate about doing something that's bigger than yourself, please let me know...

Hello Claudia. My name is Valerie and I am married with 6 kids at home. I work a typical 9 to 5 job. I would like to start my own business so that I can spend more time with my children. However, the home business opportunities I keep getting into are somehow not legitimate or unreasonably costly. Do you have any ideas on how to pursue this without getting caught in a scam? Do you kno of any reliable sources? I wouldn't mind paying if the return is promising but so far, I've been discouraged.

Hi Valerie,

I tried a lot of different things in the past that never worked out and lost a lot of money as a result.  But I also realized (as I would try to be as careful as possible in choosing the right possibility), that what didn't work for me was not because it was a scam, it was actually because I just didn't know how to make it work for myself; in other words I had to take responsibility for what happened.

And yes, I grew very discouraged as well.  But over the years, I found myself continually gravitating if you will, back to  the same thing.  Why?  For one, I'm not a 'yes' girl, and so even though I'd start out strong in a job, it would fizzle out because I wanted to have more control, as opposed to having someone else dictate what I should do and in turn determine what they thought I was worth (as in your salary).

Another thing that was discouraging was that when I would research any opportunity, I found negative feedback 100% of the time.  I even tested it on things that I believe in wholeheartedly (not necessarily bus. opportunities) and found the same.  The people that put out negative reports, blogs, posts, etc. are mainly people who tried out a business and it failed for them, not because it was a scam as they claimed but because they didn't apply themselves in the proper way to make it work (even when they thought they did, chances are that they missed one very important ingredient to achieve the success they'd hoped for).

My business being in the personal development field,  I find people putting what I do down and even been accused of it being a scam.  But when my business partners and myself are successful, it's abviously hard for any of us to agree.  I'm still learning everyday, but it took this field help me grow and become successful AFTER the value of it was given to me and prior to the finances.  The self development/personal growth are the cause and the money is the effect, which has been phenominal for me, as I get to help the people that want to be helped, and as I focus on that and they succeed personally, the money comes in.

You can be successful at any option you wish to carry out, as long as you learn how to work it within yourself, as in your mindset.  Obviously, you'll be more successful financially doing something you're personally attracted to, however, it is not necessary as you can always grow to love whatever it is that you're doing at the moment, provided you do things in a certain way.

My thing is personal development, Veronica's is make-up, and as long as we remain true to it, with the right mindset, we will both be successful.

So to answer your question (after my longwinded reply :-0  ... whatever you decide to want to look into, NEVER focus on the negative, on any level, in business or personally, and always keep your mind open to the possibilities.  But bare in mind, that if you're looking for something 'promising' you'll never find it.  You're the only one that can make it promising.  Just make sure there's integrity in whatever you find, and if you decide to do it, keep it going.

There's a financial investment (as all legit businesses should have, nothing is for free), as well as the personal one in what I do.  I'm always looking for people to join my team, but I don't ever have to focus on making large numbers, just finding the right people, because I make residual income.  So depending on the business you're looking into, sure, high numbers are great but not always necessary, and certainly not worth it if you're killing yourself to get them (that only defeats the purpose).  I'm successful because 90 - 95% of my business is mindset alone, the 5 -10% is actually work (so it doesn't feel like work).  As a matter of fact, I'm working right now in writing this - and this is fun!

Hope this helps!  Wishing you success, always, because you deserve it!

Thank you for sharing this Claudia - as with anything in life, it starts with ourselves first. I am young yet, but am already learning this, as I too am a successful unfranchised business owner. Everyday is a challange, but ATTITUDE is key - are you going to rant and rave or are you going to put a smile on your face and look at the bright side? And its true - we worry so much about what we aren't, rather than doing something about it. (My opinion here) We must accept the Lord into our lives, and be one with him in ourselves for anything to be truly possible.
Take care, and again, thank you!

Hi Veronica,

Thank you for your message.  It's nice to know you have that drive in you, especially being young.  It's always refreshing for me to find success in others that are grounded in their beliefs. And although we will continue to make mistakes, the good thing is, once they happen, they're in the past, which frees us to move on.  Never forget you can't do anything about the past (so there's no point in dwelling) and you can't do anything about the future because it's not here yet.  What you have is your present and that's where you shine (labeit keeping your focus on your goals).  Just continue to do the very best within each day your given, and your reward will come.

Best wishes to you always, and keep up the good work!
