My son use to do it when he was little. It scared the heck out of me but I had to think about it and figured it was normal. I took the opportunity to also talk to him about what it is and to be careful with his stuff. I also talked about safety and that people are not allowed to touch that area unless it was his doctor or he had a rash or something and I had to put some oinment on it. Just play it by ear and you will be ok.

Yes my son does too, but the only time he really notices it is in the bath tub or changing.

Yes its normal, I have 2 boys and they have both went through that stage, which my youngest is going through it right now.

Ha haa!! Yep! Though, when my little guy discovered his, I immediately texted my girlfriends who have boys to ask "is this normal????" =) I also enjoyed reading all the replies to this - there's comfort in knowing that OUR little boys aren't the only ones who seem so completely enthralled with their "units" at such an amazingly early age!

My 4yr old son is always tugging on his 'johnny' too. I think its normal. We didn't circumcize him either and I've heard they tug on it more if its not circumcized.

lol i remember my oldest tugging at his thing and i would cringe just thinking about how it must hurt to do that. my toddler seems to enjoy running through the house naked and also goes right for it when i change him.

Totally normal...I have 3 younger brothers and several friends with sons. I have 2 daughters...my oldest "discovered" herself in the bathtub and my 2 year old "discovers" herself on the potty. Totally normal!!! And funny...as long as you don't have company!!! Oh, and the little one likes to pull her pants down in church!!! LOL!

My son is 16 months old and he's discovered his pee-pee too. Every morning when we take off his diaper to change him he goes straight for it. We just joke about it and make comments like "pfew - thankfully it's still there!"

oh yesssss soooo normal!!!! it is hanging off of their body, not tucked nice and neatly under!!! it moves in water on its own and well he has to touch it to pee ....so best get a good handle on it!!! he will do all sorts of wonderful things with it ......things that would make any grown man cry ......he will pull it until it looks like it will snap off and not only laugh but be proud ......I swear to god their born with their brain there sometimes.......so fascinated ....."wow look at my really cool boy part" ...."can you do this???" good luck ...it does pass ..just try not to pay much attention to him and let him know when the time to touch it is inappropriate.....but boys will be boys!!!! lol

lol...I have been told that is totally normal. My son just discovered his and he's only 7 months old. You may have to teach him that it's inappropriate to do that when he's in front of other people...I have no idea how I'm going to handle it either. lol I have a daughter so this is all new to me too. Good Luck!
