I have to work.

I am a mommy of 3. 9, 5, and 3. The whole stay at home mom thing is not for me. I stayed home for a year after my first and 8 onths after my third. One kid or three, I needed to feel accomplished in something. I love my job. I'm a waitress at a local restaraunt. I only work 4 days a week but it's plenty. I get my time away, and make some extra money to boot.

I understand completely. I was at home with my daughter and actually did go nuts. I suffered some post partum and found that the only thing that lifted it was getting out of the house and working at furthering the career I love. I miss the time with my Talia but I am lucky to have a husband that is willing to be a stay at home daddy (he delivers papers at night so we don't go broke) Working as a cabinetmaker is my dream career but you get a lot of gaff being a working roughneck mom. So to Stacy say pththhp :P to those that criticize we all have our own choices to make and no one decision is right for everybody.

Blah to those who critisize! I have had the best of both worlds. I stayed at home with my daughter until she was 5 months, went back to work came back home until she started kindergarten then returned to work. I have to say they both have their ups & downs. it is nice to feel like you are more than a woman named "mom" or "honey can you" and it is nice to feel like you contribute to the corporate world & are seen as a person not just a bum wiper. I did go crazy sometimes at home..how many times a week can you clean the bathroom, vacuum. and change bedding before you are "crazy"

I agree with you. I stayed home for a year when our third was born, and I was miserable. I am now working full-time again and I feel so much better. I have stay-at-home mom friends that think it's awful that I leave my boys though.
