For some reason, since I have gone back to work May 5 my 3 month old son is having issues with people holding him. The only thing is, he is fine at our house if others hold him, but when he is at my mom's house (who watches him during the week while I am at work) he screams if anyone else holds him but my mom. Any ideas on how to break him of this weird habit?

Quoting Hillary:

Any one have suggestions on how to help Dad cope with this? My son is 3 months and is very similar, when he cries, he only wants mom. Dad holding him makes the screaming worse...

My son did the exact same thing at that age. My husband took it very personally and I felt bad for him too but I couldn't just let my son scream like that. He would calm down the second I would take him from my husband. As a friend of mine told her husband "I had to work very hard to get that kind of loyalty" - haha. Your husband just has to know and believe that it's a phase. It will pass. I promise. My son is now 17 months old and now it's often the reverse, he will just want to be with dad and not with mom (so now I'm the one who's hurt when that happens ;).

That's not really a weird habit. He's at the age where separation anxiety sets in. He's probably already a bit more unsettled when he's not home with you so he clings to your mom even more. It'll pass.
