im due to start back at work week after next, and although im looking forward to being 'me' again n the adult conversation,im not sure how im going to cope with being away from my 8 month old boy.ive hardlys been away from him since hes been born and now im going back full time, and my shifts are 8-10 hours,i work a 4 week rota, doing 2 weeks of 6days without a day off and 2 weeks of 3days ( which wont b too bad).ive found a great childminder, which is a weight off my mind,i know he'll be fine, its just me! how do you cope? x

Does the person that watches your baby have a camera on his or her phone or a camera and internet access? My husband is the one that takes care of our child in the morning because he works at night. He would send me pictures and videos of the baby and I felt a little better.

The first few weeks are the hardest. Plan to eat fast food or frozen, easily prepared meals. The last thing you'll want to do is spend time cooking when you could be with your child. Also, learn to let things go a little. Let the laundry pile up and the dishes by the sink--your son will remember playing with you more than whether you had a messy house.
