I live on a Spanish island where many nationalities also chose to live. I have many friends whose children speak one language with one parent and another with their other and then speak Spanish in the community and when they are at school. Because it is so natural it is not unusual for children to speak at least three languages..the only draw back is that they begin to speak a few months later but can compute the different languages and respond in which ever language you speak to them. It really is incredible how children can pick up languages so easily.

I am trying to work with my 22 month old daughter on her spanish. I speak very little spanish but am trying to learn it as well and do this together. We are both picking it up slowly but could use some advice on how to move it along better.
