Hi Anne,
I just started my Mary Kay business and I love it!!! I was a stay at home mom before I started this just like you and I wanted something more to do and make some extra money. You could come to one of my weekly success meetings to see what it is all about. They are on Wednesdays. There is no obligation and I promise you would have a great time. My sister consultants are so nice and welcoming! With Mary Kay, you can work a couple hours a week or you could make it a full time job. Although I don't consider it a job because it is so fun!!! Please give me an e-mail if you are interested. You can even earn the use of a car once you are in Mary Kay for a little while. My e-mail address is

Hi Anne! Are you looking for something in particular you want to do? Sounds like you're in a situation where you don't have to work, so anything you make would be extra? We were living paycheck to paycheck on my husband's income alone, which free me up to do something myself, but with the kids I needed to reamain flexible, so I started a business for myself to help supplement (and yes, some money for myself) and contribute to the household. Ended up getting even more blessings than I expected! So if you don't have to work, and you're able to invest a little, perhaps you should consider trying something that you're able to control and earn what you're really worth. Remember, if you chose to work for someone else, you'll have to commit to their schedules and not your own. Good luck in your search! Best regards! Claudia

Hi Anne,

Are you looking for something outside your home or something like a home-based business? You have to find something you enjoy and that way you not only feel like your are contributing but you also have something you are happy to do every day that you are excited about. Deborah had some good ideas if that is right for you. You could also do daycare in your home.

If you are looking for a way to earn a lot of extra money I would go with a home business though. There are many out there to choose from but you do have to make sure you check out their credentials and check with the BBB for accredidation. I have been with a health and wellness company for over 5 years and I absolutely love it. It has high credentials and has won numerous awards and has also won in the the BBB Hall of Fame award. With this company, not only do I get to save money and get healthier safer things for my family, but I also get to help others do the same and help them earn money as well if they want. What we do is just set up accounts for the company and they take care of the money part and shipping part so we never have to worry about bounced checks or delivering products.

If this sounds like something you want to learn more about I would be happy to get you all the details so you can make an educated decision. Feel free to contact me at: 608-524-3441 or go to one of my websites and request more information so I can give you a call at one of your most convenient times. My websites are: or

Good luck with your search!!

Hi Anne. If you just need a bit of spare cash why dont you do something like AVON where you can meet with your friends for coffee and make a good bit of pocket money. I am a consultant and I do it with my teenage daughter whilst we are about our normal daily routines. There is no financial outlay at all, no pressure to sell anything if you are busy doing other things one month.

Alternatively why dont you sign up for college on a a course on something you are interested in to retrain, accounts, tourism, business, beauty...whatever. Opportunities will come to you if you make the decision to do something and meet more people.

I am part of a group of women who meet monthly on Gran Canaria, where I live, and we talk about our businesses, charity work, events and any opportunities we have heard about. we also support each other starting new enterprises and often invite interesting women to be a guest speaker. Maybe you could put an ad in the local paper, or on the school notice board and start a coffee morning for women and with a small amount of organisation it could open some doors for you.

I do hope you get some wishes. Deborah
