I went back to work on Monday, and my milk supply has already gone down. I notice this because I'm pumping 3 times during the day, whereas before I used to pump just once in the morning. Plus my son just started on solids. Any ideas on how to sustain my milk supply and keep him breastfeeding?

Try to pump when you would have normally breastfed. Drink a TON of water, and relax. Bring a picture of your cutie with you. Sometimes its harder to get the letdown when you don't have the relaxation of holding your little one. Think about him and how much fun you have when your pumping. I often call and check in on him when I'm pumping. It makes me continue to realize how good I'm doing for him.

Also can try Fenugreek tablets, its an herb that helps stimulate milk supply. However, I find that if I drink lost of water it works. Brewer's yeast is also helpful. There's a great lactation cookie recipe on the breastfeeding mom's blog in February. I have made them a few times and I think it helped. You can do it!

That is definitely a hard one. My supply was going down too when I went back to work. I think just try to drink lots of water, and try pumping on a 2 hour schedule, and make sure you still pump for a couple more minutes after the flow has stopped to make your body think the demand is higher so it can try to supply more. Hope this helps. I had a hard time pumping ever 2 hours at work, and so I couldn't bring my supply up anymore, and eventually just had to stick to formula once my frozen supply ran out . I hope you have better luck!
