i just read an article on safty for the baby. Baby proofing. I have been giving Sarah a recieving blanket to snuggle with and helps her fall asleep. Now i read not too because she can tangle herself and get smoothered with it. She should have nothing in the crib! i have her hooked on this blanket and now i have to take it away??!! Any advise as to how i can soothe her at bedtime?

My son has been sleeping with his blankie since he was 4 months old and we have not had any problems. I also was concerned so I talked to my doctor and she told me that as long as my son could move freely on his own then there is no need to worry about him getting tangled or smoothered. Good luck!

I know that they say that it isnt safe....but as long as she can pull it off her face that i wouldn't worry about it...my son loves his blanket...and has had it in bed with him since about 3 months old..they also say that the crib bumper is not safe...well my son has his on his crib cuz without it he was waking 3 or more times a night from hitting the crib rails.....i just make sure is it tied tight and that the bottom part is tucked in between the rail and the mattress....i think that as long as it is only a recieving blanket she should be fine, but do what you feel comfortable with.....and if you do decide to take it away from her she will get used to sleeping without it....
