My 5month old boy wakes at least once during the night and feeds for at least 20mins, every other mum in my play group has a baby that sleeps through the night. Any tips on how I can get my wee man to do the same??

try a roll over feed about 10pm or so without waking him. Feed it to him in his cot/crib in a bottle if he'll take a bottle, he'll let you know when he has had enough. or without waking him try the breast feed, i have tried it a few time with my little one and i have also tried rice ceral(really runny with breast mile) too but its only worked a few nights, might work ok for you.

Try adding a little baby rice to the last bottle before bed i did this with my first and he started sleeping through the night. It seemed to fill him for longer.

I started putting 2 teaspoons of baby rice cereal into my sons last bottle for the night - once i started that he started to sleep through the night. Even when he went onto solids i still did it up until about 7-8 months..... It worked fantastically!

He is already on three solid meals a day, at least half a cup at each sitting.

Thanks for your suggestions, will try them out :-)

Very normal. I found mth 3 - 7 the most difficult (for sleep). Remember - growth spurts - 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months (sometimes early) so more food might be necessary. Also - baby may need cereal by now.

It is VERY NORMAL! My kids didn't sleep through the night until the were about 2. Most of my friends kids were much older before they slept thru the night. Hang in there.... it eventually comes to pass and you will be sleeping better eventually. He is a cutie.

Niether of my kids slept through the night at that age. In fact, one waking would have been a blessing ;o) He will be old enough to start eating real foods soon and that should help :o) Hugz and good luck.
